As women travelling alone, we appreciated the friendly and helpful staff, as well as the quiet location within easy driving distance of Norwich. The refurbished common areas and good value breakfast were pleasant surprises.
Felt like being home, no complaints whatsoever.

What a wonderful place, such lovely staff and comfortable surroundings. Nothing too much trouble and a delightful room. Good choice of breakfast things even if you didn't want cooked breakfast. As a single female traveller I was more than comfortable here and would recommend without any hesitation

The rooms were really well appointed, each with its own theme. One downside was that they were very hot but a fan was supplied. The antique furniture throughout the hotel was totally in keeping with its character. The food was very nice.

Warm, comfy bed, loads of hot water, quiet location, plenty of parking, clean.
Nothing, no complaints at all.

The staff were most helpful and upon being disappointed with the initial room we were allocated, they kindly changed it to a magnificent room. The location of the hotel is brilliant with easy access to Norwich and the Broads. A very enjoyable stay.

I stay in Norwich on a regular basis on business. Previously stayed at the Premier Inn Duke Street were the price now £72 per night per person, breakfast and evening meal extra. This meant that for myself and my colleague it was going to cost us £144 plus. The Caistor Hall was just £45 per person. Caistor Hall is situated in the most pleasant surroundings, excellent rooms and a team of staff only too pleased to offer what I can only describe as excellent service. For the evening meal I opted for the Menu du jour – superb. Beautifully presented and a most enjoyable meal. Recommended. Simple question – Would I stay there again? Yes without doubt.
The hotel, location, staff and meals were excellent. Some very strange adverse reviews so a tad apprehensive on my arrival. I was more than pleased with this hotel. Guess others just hit a bad hair day.

My stay at Caistor Hall Hotel was perfect for some much-needed peace and quiet. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and offers spacious rooms with comfortable beds. I enjoyed a relaxing bath and had plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and they even cooked a delicious vegan curry for me. The breakfast was plentiful and satisfying. I had a great experience at Caistor Hall Hotel and would highly recommend it.

The en suite shower room had very good fittings including an excellent sized shower cubicle but to describe the space remaining involves swinging of cats and being a contortionist, there was very little room left around the fittings. Possibly we got the midget ensuite, the bed room was of excellent size

Friendly but largely unprofessional staff. Bathroom full of flies - had not been cleaned prior to my occupation. suspect that the room had been unoccupied for some time. Bathroom condition very poor and needed complete refurbishment. there were no other people staying on my first night and I suspect that I was given the lowest standard. good management would have upgraded. Public areas are adequate and enhanced by the historic quality of the building. Considerable building/refurbishment is needed to the upper floors and bedrooms/bathroom facilties. The layout of the stairs/corridors needs changing and a lift should be added to this class of establishment. The hotel is privately managed owned and this reflects in the way it is run, On my second night we were a group of 4 VIP business guests and between us we made up 80% of the hotel occupancy on what should have been a busy Friday night. I spent some time appologising for the hotel. Unfortunately we were fully occupied with business for most of our short stay and had no time to advise the hotel of our disappointment. I also did not want to make a "scene" in front of my guests. The bill of over £600 for our stay was more than double what this level of service should have cost.

Beautiful location in the countryside with charming surroundings. Impressive Great Hall adds to the character of the house. Helpful manager who went above and beyond during an emergency. Lovely curving stairway adds to the charm. Potential as a destination wedding site. Spacious and pleasant rooms with large bathrooms. Well-appointed grounds with easy parking. Welcoming and kind staff. Enjoyable jazz concert with Stella Goodey
Nothing to dislike

Lovely location, peaceful and quiet. Impressive Great Hall and beautiful curving stair. Helpful manager, especially during emergency. Retains character and is a wedding site. Excellent staff, despite being few. Comfortable and unique rooms. Nice garden and well-decorated lobby and bar.
Nothing to fault.

Beautiful setting and rooms were lovely. We stayed in 2 different rooms (as we extended our stay!) and both were tastefully decorated with furnishings that complimented the age and style of the hotel, The grounds are well maintained. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. We would definitely go back.
A wedding taking place on our second night did mean that it was not such a quiet and restful experience as our first night. I would recommend checking if weddings are on if you are hoping peace and relaxation. That said, the staff did everything they could to ensure our comfort, suggesting we could close off the library for ourselves if required.

Recptionist was friendly
1. No internet...and rubbish explanation (prevent down-loading of movies) 2. digital TV signal was breaking up 3. room access was disorganised: a) staff could not find room key (room 416), because the paperclip holding it to the heavy fob failed. b) we returned late (ish), and the staff had difficulties using the registration system to check our room number - took 3 of them eventually to operation the computer. 4. Room was poorly decorated, and over a noisy air-treatment plant.
